Pre-K is an exciting year filled with growing independence, deeper friendships, big questions, and preparation for what comes next.
At The Treehouse Preschool, our Pre-K program helps children build the academic, social, emotional, and practical skills they need to confidently transition into kindergarten. Through purposeful learning, hands-on activities, creative exploration, and meaningful classroom experiences, children strengthen their communication, problem-solving, independence, and critical-thinking skills.
Our goal is to make sure children leave Treehouse feeling confident, curious, capable, and excited for their next big adventure.
Confidence & Independence Take Root
As kindergarten gets closer, children are ready to take on more responsibility and discover just how capable they are.
Our Pre-K students are encouraged to make choices, care for their belongings, follow multi-step directions, participate in classroom responsibilities, solve age-appropriate problems, and complete tasks with increasing independence.
Teachers provide encouragement and guidance while giving children opportunities to try things for themselves, learn from mistakes, and feel proud of their accomplishments.
The goal isn't simply to prepare children for a new classroom—it's to help them believe they're ready for it.
Building a Strong Academic Foundation
Being ready for kindergarten means having the social and emotional skills to navigate a larger classroom community, too.
Through friendships, group activities, classroom routines, collaborative play, and positive guidance, children practice communicating their feelings, listening to others, taking turns, cooperating, showing kindness, and working through disagreements.
Our teachers help children develop the confidence to advocate for themselves while also learning how their words and actions affect the people around them.
These everyday experiences help build the resilience, empathy, and emotional confidence children will carry with them far beyond Pre-K.
Creativity, Curiosity & Discovery
At this age, one question often leads to ten more—and we encourage children to keep asking!
Art, music, science experiments, imaginative play, building challenges, sensory experiences, and STEAM activities give children opportunities to investigate ideas and discover answers for themselves.
Rather than simply telling children how something works, our teachers encourage them to wonder, predict, experiment, create, problem-solve, and try again.
Because curious children don't just memorize information—they develop a genuine desire to understand the world around them.
Growing Hearts & Strong Friendships
Our Pre-K program introduces the early academic concepts children will build upon in kindergarten while keeping learning engaging and developmentally appropriate.
Through hands-on activities and purposeful classroom experiences, children strengthen skills in:
• Letter recognition and letter sounds
• Early writing and pre-reading skills
• Vocabulary and language development
• Numbers, counting, patterns, and early math
• Science and discovery
• Fine-motor and pre-writing skills
• Listening and following directions
• Problem-solving and critical thinking
Rather than rushing children into kindergarten-level work, we focus on creating a strong foundation and positive relationship with learning that prepares them for continued success.

From Treehouse to Kindergarten
Watching a child prepare to leave preschool for kindergarten is such a special milestone.
By the end of Pre-K, our hope is that each child leaves The Treehouse Preschool with more than academic knowledge. We want them to walk into their kindergarten classroom knowing how to make a friend, ask for help, try something challenging, express their feelings, solve a problem, and believe in themselves.
Their time at Treehouse may be coming to an end, but everything they've learned here is just the beginning.
